Century City
Century City, the land that initially belonged to cowboy actor Tom Mix, who used it as a ranch, was developed on the former backlot of 20th Century Studios in the 1960s. In addition to business and shopping, today, the area is known for its lovely residential enclaves. A significant neighborhood destination, the Westfield Mall, is home to shops, restaurants, a state-of-the-art AMC theater, and Gelson’s, where locals know to stop by the Victor Benês bakery counter to pick up an alligator cake on Sunday mornings.
Though there are no public schools in Century City, three private schools are in or near the area: VINCI Academy Daycare & Preschool, Lycée France de Los Angeles, and Temple Isaiah Preschool and Kindergarten.
